YNSC39 - Your Next Stamp Stitching Challenge

Hi All,

Today is a new Challenge over at Your Next Stamp ---- Yippeeee. Our Hostess this week is Beth and she is challenging us this week is to use Stitching on our projects (either real or faux).

When I first saw this Challenge I got pretty nervous, lol. Here is why.... I do not Sew at all. Yes you heard me correctly! I have used a sewing machine just once in my life on one card. It was pretty sad to say the least hehehe. I do have a fabulous new machine, but it's just for looks :P This week I really challenged myself. I spent all last week teaching myself how to sew on a machine LOL.  Determination is a powerful thing :)

I think the most time consuming part was creating a bobbin (a whole crazy new concept to me) and threading the whole machine up.  The first time took about 3 hours HA! But, I have to say after that it just got quicker and quicker. Now it takes me about 5 minutes.  Once the machine was threaded, the rest was history.  Here is the creation I created for the Stitching Challenge...

I used Mini Fairy Fhiona and the first thought I had when I saw her was the TOOTH FAIRY lol!!! So I created a tooth shaped card to leave under the pillow for those special moments in life when one of yours losses a tooth and leaves it for the Tooth Fairy.

I even added a pocket in the inside of the card for coins or bills.

I am really happy with how it all came together and I hope you guys all like it as well.

I hope you guys pass by and play along with us this week. We have a  fabulous Prize for the winner!  This is the prize for this weeks Challenge!

We’d love to see you use a YNS stamp on your challenge card/creation,
but if you don’t have one, then you can still join in and be entered into the prize draw (but please only enter one non-YNS creation per challenge).
As our challenge runs for 2 whole weeks you have plenty of time to hop on over to the YNS Store and pick up some of these cuties yourself!
If you do use a YNS stamp on your challenge card/creation,
you’ll be entered into the prize draw TWICE and be
entered into the Top Pick draw – that’s 3 chances to win!

SCF91 - Sqigglefly Challenge Patterned Paper

Happy Monday!

Wow it seems the weekend went by SOOOOO fast, there are just not enough hours and days in a weekend lol.  So to make the start of the week less painful we have a new Challenge up at Squigglefly.

The Chalenge up today is to create your own 'Patterned Paper'. You can stamp it, Dry Emboss it, Heat Emboss it, etc... Whatever you like to create your own Paper. How cool is that!

Here is the card I created using The Head of the House

The paper I created is the base of the main image.  It's my Faux Leather. I started with just a plain light tan cardstock, and sponged it with Tim Holtz Detressing ink. I totally love this look. It looks like leather.

Did you notice the stitching all over my card - Ummmm sewing machine stitching you say? For those of you that follow my blog you know that I have only machine stitched on one card the last 2 years, and it was very little and pretty sadly done lol. Well I was determined on this one.  I have a brand new Sewing Machine (A Brothers Project Runway one) and the poor thing is just sitting in my craft room collecting dust and getting rusty :P  I spent the last week teaching myself how to use it :) Now I'm a sewing loonie adding it to lots of my cards. I'm very pleased how clean it came out.

I also stamped out the paw prints paper and I just lightened up the destressing purposely to give it a different look. (more sewing haha).

I also added a yarn bow and a mouse button. HOW CUTE- epppp!!!

Then to top it off I used a Sentiment flag.  I've been really liking the flags and incorporating them more and more.

Finally, I added the mouse trap button - epppp x 1000 LOL! How cute is that button. I found both the mouse and mouse trap buttons at Joann's Fabrics.

We would love it if you came and played along with us this week.  We have fabulous prizes up for grabs and it's a whole lot of fun over at the Squigglefly Challenge Blog. Swing by and say Hi. I'm excited to see what you guys create for this one.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

SC324 - Bee Happy

I created this card for this weeks SC324 Challenge over at Splitcoast.

Here is the Sketch:

I used the Bee from The Day Dream Fhiona set over at Your Next Stamp. How cute is he! I felt he deserved his own card lol.

I colored him with Copics. My Paper (The Shiny Black Stripes) is from Stampin' up. I think this is the yummiest of all papers. I believe it's discontinued and I'm down to my last few pieces :( I used the a dots embossing folder for my yellow cardstock.  The sparkly Button is from Hobby Lobby and I added black and white twine as it's sooo perfect for a Bee card.

The Sentiment I created on my PC.

I had such a fun time making this card. It was a quick late night project as I was bored hehehe. I love the way this came out and I hope you like it too!

YNSC39 - Your Next Stamp Challenge!

It's that time again for a Your Next Stamp Challenge! This week our host Wendy is challenging us to use some Sparkle. Yes, you heard me correctly SPARKLE. Use anything to add some Sparkle (glitter / bling / shimmer / etc..) When I saw this challenge I got soooooo excited I squealed out loud with joy lol. I am the Sparkle Queen hehehe, or at least I like to think so :)

For my card I used Berry Patch Ellie. I think this is one of the cutest stamps every!

I decided to create some homemade sparkle for this challenge.  I stamped my image and left in in my Nestabilites Circle.  While it was still in the die, I drew the circle around the stamped image and also added in the grass hill as well.

I then used a larger Nestabilities to cut a larger circle around it.  I used an R08 Copics to color the outer ring and then used a small paintbrush and brushed on my Tombo Mono-Adhesive Glue (my absolute favorite glue). I allowed the glue to sit for a minute so it got really tacky, and finished it off by sprinkling it to death with Doodlebug glitter.  I also added sparkle to the strawberry's with my Red Atyou Spica Pen.

The DP is from the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety paper pack. The green sparkle paper is from The Paper Studio and I just HAD to add it in *innocent look*.  I used my TCP Icing Cutup die for the bottom edge (which by the way is an awesome must have die!).  I finished it off with a strawberry button that I found at Hobby Lobby, and added some matching twine. The Green Flower charm was a gift from a friend from Bazzil and I was so happy to be able to include it in this card.

I can not wait to see what everyone creates for this challenge.  We would love to see you all join in on the Challenge. We have 2 wonderful prizes for you to win.

1. Winner: One lucky winner will be chosen by random.org to win $10.00 in YNS Stamp Bucks and and the Winner Blinkie to proudly display on their blog! You may use any stamp, but those of you that use a YNS stamp will be entered twice for this prize, doubling you chance to win. You will also be included in the Top Pick drawing so that's TRIPLING your chance to win!!!

2. Top Pick: One lucky entry, chosen by the YNS DT, will win $5.00 in YNS Stamp Bucks and the Top Pick Blinkie to proudly display on their blog! (Please note: you must use a YNS stamp on your creation to be eligible to win the Top Pick prize).

TCP149 - Retro Challenge!

This is my second post for today (wow - I never do that hehehe).

Today I'm playing along with The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday Challenge (yes, I know that was last week lol).  I JUST made it into the Challenge entry this week 'Phew'! Literally buy the skin on my teeth hehehehe. I have wanted to participate in a TCP Challenge forever now and this is my first! I played along with TCP 149 Retro Tuesday, where the challenge was to pick a past TCP challenge and go with it Retro style.

I picked TCP 124 Sketch Challenge.
I flipped the Sketch cuz I'm just a Flippy type of Person. Now that I have basically Fallin' head over heels for The Cat's Pajamas, I just had to squeeze in a Challenge. Here is the card I created, and OH YES I broke out the glitter paper and cork board paper again lol!

I also got to use my 1.5" Grosgrain Stripped ribbon from TCP which is so YUMMY.  I used a Beary Good year, and this stamp set rocks. There are so many options with this set that it is endless what you can create with.  I just got this set and had to attack the St. Patrick's Day images included with it.  If you like masking, this is a masking dream kinda stamp set ha.

As if the Glitter paper wasn't enough I also added Stickles - Double Glitter punch.

Thanks so much for visiting and hope you guys all have a Happy Tuesday.

SFC89 - Spring Challenge time!

Happy Monday. Today is a new Challenge over at Squigglefly.

I love today's challenge as it can really be combined with other challenges very easily. This weeks challenge is to create a card that makes you think about SPRING.  How fun is that!, it's so neat to see how everyone is going to define Spring.

When I was deciding on my card I had lots of thoughts go threw my mind like Rain, Flowers (Tulips), Tornado's LOL!, Thunder Storms, Green Grass etc... But what really really makes me think of Spring is St. Patrick's Day.  I know right after a green beer, that is when I start having urges for Spring to come so I can get in my flower beds and start planting.

Here is the card I created for Today's SPRING Challenge:

I used MOJO 181 Sketch for my design. I just thought it was perfect for this image. My image is from Squigglefly and it's called Happy St. Patrick's Day Hat and can be purchased now from the Squigglefly Shop. Please come join us for the challenge as we have a great prize for the winner and I'm really looking forward to what everyone creates.  Head on over to the Challenge Blog and check out all the deets, and don't miss out on any of the fun.

Here's the 411 on my card. The Sparkle paper is from The Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby, and it comes in tons of different colors. I just think St. Patrick's Day is all about LOTS of Green Sparkle. The DP is from the Cosmo Cricket Material Girl Pack.

I used the the MFT Hearts of Plenty Die-namics (the smallest heart) to create the Shamrock. I hand cut the Stem.  I'm really happy with how this came out. The Glitter Shamrock button is also from Hobby Lobby and of coarse I had to throw in some Twine. The Second Die is from The Cat's Pajama's and it's called APRON. I truly think this is my favorite Die so far.

AND...(drum roll please, lol)

If you Make a purchase this week over at the Squigglefly Shop (3/12 - 3/19 midnight) you will be entered to win one of three prizes! For each image purchased, you'll be entered to win - make two purchases, your name will be entered twice, three purchases, your name will be entered three times - the more purchases, the more chances you have to win!

We'll draw three names to win:
  • First prize: Your choice of $25 worth of Squigglefly images
  • Second prize: Your choice of $15 worth of Squigglefly images

  • Third prize: Your choice of $10 worth of Squigglefly images
