SFC83 - Squigglefly Monday Challenge

Happy MONDAY everyone!

Today the Squigglefly Design Team is kicking off the weekly Squigglefly Challenge which we hold every Monday over at the
Squigglefly Challenge Blog.

This weeks challenge is a Sketch and a Recipe (HOW FUN!). First up is the Sketch. Create a Valentine's Day Card using the following Sketch.

Besides the Sketch, the recipe is to use red, sparkle (can be glitter, gems ... whatever you think sparkles) & of course use hearts (paper, foam, buttons...) Have fun! :) Please come on over and join us for all the fun. If you use a SF Image you can be eligible to win a free Digi of your choice. You gotta love free prizes! Here is my creation for the challenge:

I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE the chef images over at Squigglefly, I must have all of them now lol. I plan on purchasing the rest soon. They are so cute and so fun to color in. I used my Copics for this and it was a joy to color. Notice the cute little heart gems I added as well as red glitter to the base of the hat and chef shirt :)

I also added the same red glitter around my sentiment that I created myself on my PC. I added some fun red Baker's Twine to hold it to the card.

I also added heart paper and more Baker's Twine to the bottom of the card and used my MFT Die-namics to create scallops that I thought were perfect for the Sketch. I also added the white crinkled ribbon, as it reminded me of baking paper that's around small cakes and cupcakes. It just seemed like the perfect match. I also added a button and a material heart brad to the top corner with some small blue rhinestones.

Hope you guys enjoy and come play along. Also make sure you visit the blog as the rest of the DT has some awesome creations there not to be missed.

SC317 - I love U

Hi Everyone,

Today I decided to try something a lil different for the SC317 Challenge. I usually don't do the 'vintage' look, but I just had to give it a try. I purchased so many Valentine's Day supplies I have to use them up as quickly as I can. Okay maybe not, I have enough supplies to last me the next 10 Valentine's Day lol :) Here is the card I created....

Here is the Sketch

I used 3 different stamps for the main image: The background writing stamp is by Stampabilities and it's called Faded Text, The heart is from an old Stampin Up set I have had sitting around forever called Polka Dot Punches and the I LOVE U stamp is also Stampabilities. I stamped everything on regular tan cardstock and sponged it with Tim Holtz Destressing Inks in both Vintage Photo and Fired Brick. I also heat embossed the I LOVE U with red embossing powder. I used the new MFT die-namics Rolled up Rose Die to create the rose. This is my first time using it and I'm pretty happy with the results. I figure each one I make will get better and better - I hope lol. I also used Cork Board Paper for The background - I LOVE that stuff. Here are a few close ups ...

I used my bow easy to tie the black ribbon bow. That thing is the bomb - I can not tie a ribbon to save my life - Ha! The heart button is from Hobby Lobby. I also added black and white Baker's Twine, but I sponged it up with some Vintage Photo Destressing Ink to take the whiteness out of it so it matched better with my card. I also dry embossed the red panels with Hearts and Dots that you can see a lil better in the close ups.

The black stripped paper is so yummy it's from Stampin Up and it's so shiny. I thought it added a lot to this card.

Hope you guys like it and thanks for visiting. I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

SC316 - I Love You

Hi All,

I got another All That Scraps haul (yes, another lol) and I got this cutie for my Valentine's Day Cards. How cute is she!!! I used SC316. This week is a great Sketch at Splitcoast, I totally loved this one. I'm also submitting it to ATS Wednesday Challenge.

Here is the Sketch

I did so much on this card and added some of my new goodies. I stamped her on the new Copics X-press Paper and let me say - I hate it lol. The paper that is. I was excited when they released this and I have to say I don't like it at all. I can't blend well on it at all. I like my Paper Trey Ink paper so much better. I'm glad I only got a few sheets of it to test it out, but I'm passing on it. It's hard to explain but it seems like you blend, then you look back at it looks unblended - if that makes any sense. I kept going back to blend on it and I finally just gave up - ha!

Here are a few close ups of my new goodies I added. I purchased some felt hearts, buttons and ribbon at Hobby Lobby. They had there Valentine's Day items 30% off already. I also added the oh so popular Baker's Twine that I picked up from Taylored Expressions, and I have to say I love it.

I added some heart rhinestones to her dress and some stickles to the roses. I masked her and airbrushed around her with my new Copics Airbrush System and Compressor. I love how the Airbrush looks.

Here's a shot to show off the dimensions of the card. I popped up the main image on pop dotes.

SFC81 - Squigglefly Monday Challenge

Hi everyone!

Today is Challenge Day over at the Squigglefly Challenge Blog - YIPEEE.

The challenge for this week is SFC81:
Use Green, Silver and a Flower anyway you like :) The Flower can be a Prima or a handmade one or whatever (HOW FUN IS THAT)!!! I used Prima Flowers for my card as well as the Love Bug image from Squigglefly. Here is my card for the Challenge.....

I have been anxiously wanting to use my flower shaped nestabilities and this was the perfect time to break them out.

I used lots of rhinestone accents on this as well - between the wording, the antenna and the cute bugs eyes lol. I really love challenges that are difficult (that's the whole point right? lol) for it to really make you think and challenge yourself. Well this was a great challenge for me. With Valentine's day right around the corner and my head filled with sparkly pink and red hearts, using green and silver was a toughie. So, I made a Green and Silver Valentine's Day card LOL. I really loved this challenge cuz it worked my brain over well hehehehe.

Please come join all the fun too. Head on over to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog and don't miss out on the Challenge details and the other DT creations (they are to die for). I'm really anxious to see what everyone creates!

Happy Winter :)

Hey Everyone,

I finally got my stitches out of my finger Monday YIPPEEE and let me just say the word 'HURT' is an understatement HA. It hurt even worse then them going in. When they put them in I was numb, but coming out I was screaming LOL. I'm still curious what the patients in the waiting room where thinking when they heard me screaming for 10 minutes straight hehehehe.

Unfortunately there is a small spot that is still open :( I think for sure the doctor who stitched me up def missed a spot. I put a butterfly stitch on it and hopefully it will close up as well. I guess I had this fantasy that once the stitches came out of my finger it would be all better .... and it's not even close lol. In my frustration I decided to go sit at my desk and try for a card. I'm going to have to work around this all best I can since being healed looks like it will be a long time into the future. I just got my ATS haul and I jumped right in. Here is the card I created today...

How cute is this!!! I have been wanting to do a winter card for awhile, and yesterday we got 6 inches of snow so I thought it was the perfect time.

This is the first time I used my Copics to completely color an image and
airbrush. I airbrushed around the image with my new Copics airbrush system and my new compact air compressor (pictures to come) :) I love how it all turned out.

Here are a few Close ups of my Card...

I used Stickles for some glitter and I used Polar White Flowersoft below the Image for snow :)

This image is so adorbale and so perfect for any Winter Greeting!

I used this weeks SCS Sketch, SC314.

Hope you guys liked it and thanks so much for stopping in. Make sure you stay tuned cuz I have a bunch of haul pictures I want to share. I usually don't do haul pictures, but I got SOOOO much new stuff that I figured it would be fun!

Happy New Year

I hope everyone is having a Happy and Safe New Year
!

I was wanting to post a last minute card for today, but I'm now unable to. Yesterday while washing dishes, I broke a glass and cut up my hand pretty badly. I was washing a glass (not using a brush like I should have been) and the stupid glass popped on me (shocking to say the least). The broken glass sliced my pinky finger up very badly.

Not a good way to start the New Year to say the least lol. Off to the ER I went and 6 stitches later and a lot of pain, I'm back but not able to do a card for today :( I figured it's best to rest my hand as much as I can. 6 stitches across my entire pinky finger OUCH!

The moral of the story: Please NEVER stick your hand into a glass to wash it, just use a brush. I'm still in shock that it happened the way it did. I never had a glass break like that on me. I'm also shocked how badly I damaged my finger. I came very close to cutting it off or doing some serious nerve damage. So off I go to rest up some and I promise as soon as I am able - a new card will pop up here ...so stay tuned!
