Kids .....THIS IS FUNNY!!!

Still no cards but something funny to show you :) I got this from a friend at work in email. It was forwarded around a lot but the jist is ....

The email was titled KIDS:

it said....

So, there I was . . . just relaxing
in front of the TV, and then the kids yelled from the back yard, 'Hey, come see the kittens..'

ROFLBO!!! Is that not the most hysterical of all things. I could see my nieces and nephews doing this!!!! So make sure your kids know that kittens usually don't look like this!!! TOO FUNNY and CUTE....LOL :)

Karma :)

Hi Guys :) Happy Thursday!!!

I will be taking a lil break from creating :) Just a day or two of no cards, nothing major. I will still be here reading blogs and so forth, just no new card work again til Saturday. I know ...some of you must just drop thinking about how crazy that sounds, or how crazy I am for saying it lol, but we all need a lil tiny break here and there. I actually have been under the weather, with things getting better ...than worse, than better. I figured a lil R&R couldn't hurt. It's hard to walk away from the stamp desk, but I think it will prove to be a positive thing! Only for a day or two - I promise!

I have a few auto posts set up for today and tomorrow. Just a few things I wanted to share since I won't have new cards to post just yet.

The first thing is Ri over at Coconut Lounge Creations has given me a Karma Award for my Blog!!! How incredibly sweet is that! I was so honored as I have never got a blog award before :)

I was listed as one of the award Participants!!! *smiling with pride* hehehehehe. If you haven't seen her blog please take a second to check it out. She has the cutest of all cards. Now I'm supposed to pass this award on to eight other blogs I feel worthy, but I don't think it should be passed to a set number. I do feel it should be sent to the number you choose to pass it on to....SO I have three special people in mind.

"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers"

If your not familiar with there blogs, please visit them, you won't regret it. These ladies have awesome mad talent. Each person getting this award deserves it. I wanted to pass this special Karma Award on to them becasue there sweetness has won me over and they all got awesome Karma!
Joni, Crystal and Sue - please pass this on to as many blogs as you feel deserve this too ...1, 8 or 100. It's up to you. Include the special note in quotes up above when you do. Everyone should feel the Karma love.

Date Night - Sneaky Peeky

Here is one more sneak peeky from Modern Sugar Blvd soon to be released so keep an eye out for it :)

My Mojo was suffering a lil tonight but I was still able to get this done amazingly enough lol. I used Sketch #15 from The Sweetest Thing for this and tried to stay true to the sketch.

Thanks for looking and have a great night/day :)

Scoot on Over - SC225

Here's a sneak peek at a new digi image soon to released from Modern Sugar Blvd ... make sure you check back for release information.

I did this for last weeks SCS Sketch Challange - SC225. I sponged the sky and clouds..which is my first time doing that and I'm pleased how it turned out. It's hard to see in the photo but I used yellow stickles on all the lights. The sentiment is computer generated and I colored the image using Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I finally got to use a key charm that I just recently got. My boyfriend Kelly bought it for me. He's always helping out my card making where he can. He shows up with crafting supplies - Gotta love him!!! I'm spoiled *big grin* Plus you should have seen him smile when he saw I used it...that was the best! I thought the key added to the sentiment perfectly. I also added prima flowers and some dew drops to finish it off. I'm pleased with the over all finish and I hope you likz it too.

Thanks for stoping by and have a great Day :)

You're My Hero ....Super Dragon

Here is a card I made tonight for the SCS Try a New Technique Challenge (TLC218). When I saw we had to use marbles to create our own backgrounds I just had to try it. It sounded too fun. When I started the card I realized I didn't have any marbles, but I wasn't going to give up lol. I started searching the house looking...and looking...and looking. Still nothing ....so It finally hit me. I took fondant gum paste (for cakes) and rolled out my own marble shapes and used that :) I knew that stuff would come in handy for something one day lol.

I used a Dustin Pike image for this. I just couldn't resist this adorable Super Dragon. He's to stinkin cute. I colored him using Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I used superman colors too..red, blue and yellow. I have to say this was SO MUCH fun to make. I got ink dyes all over me, my clothes, my fingers and I think even the cat lol - but it was a blast.

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful day!

A lil update and some news :)

I'm feeling better today :) I was down and out for a bit, but back to feeling somehwhat normal again...Yippeeeee....The Doc visit this past Friday did me good.

Now for some News. Dustin Pike has a bunch more new digi stamps up again (as of Friday)!!!! I'm a bit behind but catching up fast lol. I LOVE Dustin's work. If you haven't seen it yet, take a swing by his BLOG. The man is a genuis, and has some awesome new and fresh images. They are adorbale and a must see!

For those of you that are still anti-Digi Stamp, (as I once started), he offers free images every Wednesday. Take a look threw his blog history and download one and give it a shot. How can you argue with FREE :) I myself never thought I would like them, and now I'm hooked lol. I will eventually have all his images at one point or another. Also if your STILL against them - he has a rubber stamp line coming out soon which is AWESOME news. Hopefully I will have some new cards up soon in the next day or two using one of his images now that I'm on the comeback trail :)

Also he announces his new DT on May 3rd. The deadline to apply is the 30th (so you still have time). Talk about anxious and excited??!!! I did apply and I'm crossing my fingers (a lot) on this one lol. I can't imagine how cool it would be to be on his Design team, (considering they are my fav Digi's). Well I will be sure to report back here when he decides. If you can and it's not too much to ask for, please send some extra special lucky wishes this way :)

Happy Monday all!

CAKE GAL :)

Details on Recipe Box: I created this recipe box using a template I found Here at Rainy Day Creations. All the details on how to make this box are listed there. I colored the image using Primacolor Pencils and OMS. The box holds 4x6 Recipe cards. I used Shrinky Dinks made for digital images to make the Oil tag. I just ran the shrinky dink material threw my printer and then colored the image with my copics. This project was a blast to make. The template was so simple and I scored and had it cut in just minutes.

The great thing about this box is it is very functional. When you are ready to use a recipe just clip your card to the front of the box and you are ready to go!

Thanks for stoping by and make sure you check out the other creations made by the other Sugara of Modern Sugar Blvd. All the DT Sugars are listed on my right sidebar. Thank you for stoping by and visiting!

Get Well

Hey everyone! Hope you are all having a great night :)

Here is a card I just finished making using YES another DUSTIN PIKE Digi Stamp. I am wild about his art and I thought this was the cutest ever image and had to have it. He is such a cute Dragon all bandaged up hehehehe. I ran the tan CS threw my cuttlebug with Swiss Dots to make it look like a bandade :)

The charms that are hanging say 'GET WELL' and I took a close up pic so maybe you can see it better

I really enjoyed making this card. Hope you likes! Thanks Dustin for the wonderful images!

My Knight

Hello All. Hope your having a nice night. Here is a card I threw together tonight. I used one of Dustin Pike's free Digi Stamps of the week. If you visit his blog you can snag this cutie for yourself for FREE!. Is this image not adorable or what LOL!!! If your looking for a card for a guy ..this is it!

I actually changed the image slightly. I seperated the Knight and his horse, and I flipped the horse around so they would be facing each other. That's one of the awesome things about Digi's you can do so much with them, things you can't with rubber stamps. Don't get me wrong I LOVE MY RUBBA lol, but if you haven't tried a digi ...give it a shot. I was hooked instantly lol.

I made this card for my Boyfriend. He has been so extra sweet to me and he's been very supportive. I wanted to give him something special. I'm not sure you can tell in the photo but that background paper I used from Provocraft is to die for lol. It's shiney and embossed and I thought it was just perfect for this card. The sentiment was computer generated. I chalked around the edges to make it stand out some (I usally sponge on ink, but I'm trying new things here and there).

I colored the images using Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I'm starting to REALLY love working with these pencils. It's my fav way to color for now lol. I figure why change a good thing :)

Hope you are all having a wonderful evening! Thanks for visiting.

First Ever Anya/Ian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the first offical Blog hop for Anya and Ian (The Greeting Farm/Club Anya). If by chance you are not familiar with these two, head on over to THIS LINK and check these cuties out. New stamps will be released this evening at 10PM CST after the Hop. You are not going to wanna miss the new stamps out of Anya and Ian...THEY ARE TO DIE FOR lol.

If you weren't aware of the hop and would like to see the other wonderful and talented participants invloved, please head on over to Club Anya and there will be a list of all the blog hop participants that you can follow. This way you can start at the beginning and not miss any of the amazing talents that will be on display!

I myself am new to Anya's/Ian's, and truthfully stamping in general lol. I just started stamping in February of this year, never touched a stamp prior to that point (wow I was missing a lot lol). I have to say this line is one of my fav of all stamps. I know many of you feel the same. So, without further ado here is what I created for todays Hop....

I love Princess Anya the most! She is so pretty and she sure does sparkle lol. I stayed with a simple layout, as I wanted her to be the focal point on this card.

Some details on the card:
- She was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Oderless Mineral Spirits.
- The sentimanet is chipboard which I painted white then stamped with 'you simply sparkle' (from the spunky princess set/Unity) and heat embossed it with clear EP. It looks so sparkly up close, hard to tell in the photo.
-I added a lil bling to her crown and wand. Both have Sugar Coating (aka glitter) from Doodlebug Designs on it. BLING BLING :) We had to make her a REAL princess and a real princess has Bling lol.
- I sponged around her with Momento Dew Drop Ink to make her 'glow'.
- I finally added a clip to hold on the sentiment tag. I have been obssesed with these clips lately, so don't be suprised to see them on a lot more of my designs this week. It's the 'IN' item for me this week lol. Here is a close up of all the details.....

Thank you so much for stoping by my blog today, I always love new and returning guests. I was honored to be part of this Hop this evening. Please feel free to leave a comment (I'm new so I need friends ..hehehehe - teasing). I love comments cuz I love to hear what you all think! Have a great day and enjoy the rest of your hop!

Kind of a Blah day ....

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. I'm away from my family, but I got to speak with them on the phone and that was a blessing in itself! I also went to go see the new Fast and Furious sequel with my Sweetie. GREAT MOVIE if you haven't seen it yet :)

I have no card to post today, but an update lol. I haven't posted any new projects in several days, but that doesn't mean I'm not still working on things. I have two projects I'm currently working on, or was working on, that soaked up every last minute of my time since the 6th (AKKK) lol.

- The 8th and 9th I was working on my project for the First Ever Greeting Farm Club Anya/Ian Blog Hop, which is set for April 15th. A bunch of new releases are planned for that evening and Club Anya is going to kick it off with a first ever Hop! Wooohoooo. Check out the details HERE. Make sure you visit there, and here, on the 15th for fun.

- Meanwhile, I also made the Top 20 over at Modern Sugar Blvd for there Design Team (which I never expected). Check out the projects from all 20 finalists HERE. I had to spend the 10th, 11th and 12th running around for supplies and getting this project together. I had to create 1 card and 1 scrapbook page or project for a chance at the final 10 member team. I picked a project.

- I also purchased a Scor-Pal during that time and all I can say is WOW WOW. I am not sure how I ever lived without it. I scored out a template in 30 seconds that would have taken me a good hour of measuring and cutting to complete. I'm upset with myself that I talked myself out of it so many times in the past lol.

So.... with a full time job (yuck lol), in which I just extended my hours, and working 9 hours two days a week and 8 hours the other three days, and my weekends for laundry and cleaning AND spending time with my Guy, squeezing it all can be tricky lol. I'm sure we have all been in this spot at one point or another. So, I have nothing new to post as of yet, but lots of fun stuff on it's way!!! Stay tuned :)

3 for 1 - SC222, CC212 and LSC214

I tried to combine 3 of last weeks SCS Challenges.

Card Sketch: SC222

The Color Combination: CC212: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, and Riding Hood Red. I don't have SU colors but used what I thought looked close to the colors needed.

AND....

Limted Supplies: LSC214: One Color (Red with Brown and White being a Neutral), 2 Patterned Papers, 3 Embellishment (ribbon, brads and crystals)...I tried to get this card to qualify and I think it does lol!

The two outer trees are stamped in Pink ink and highlighted with my Souffle Puffy pink pen. It's hard to see but looks 'puffy' in RL lol.

I really like how it turned out and don't think I would normally pair these colors, but looks great to me :) Let me know what you think- TFL!!!

April 4, 2009

Birthday Fishes :)

I made this card for a challenge at The Greeting Farm...called DON'T BE SQUARE lol. You had to make a card that was anything but square or rectangular....here is my creation:

I had a blast making this, but I have to say it was REALLY outside of my comfort zone lol. The shell card I sketched in Inkskape and then imported to my Cricut to cut. I used kraft paper for the bottom so it would look like sand. I added orange twine cord to create a shell look. I also colored this pretty Anya with my Copics (also outside my comfort zone since it a first time not using my Prismacolor Pencils). I only own 18 markers so for the limitations I love how it came out. It's hard to see in the photo but her hair and lashes have shimmer, it looks so cute in real life. Here's a close up - maybe you can see:

I used my Nesties to cut the circles and the scallop circle. I also used my cuttlebug to emboss the outer scallep circle which you can see in the close up pic above. I used tiny pearls that I found in my stash for her hair and the sentiment. I hand cut the seweed (my favorite part of the card lol). This is probably the most time I have ever spent on a card. Let me know what you think ...thanks for visiting!
