SFC87 - Squigglefly Challenge 'Scraps'

It's that time again for another Squigglefly Challenge :)

This weeks Challenges is fabulous. You need to use Scraps of any kind to create your card like Paper Scraps, Ribbon Scraps, etc. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I have a box of cut up scraps that are left over from other cards that I have made. Every time I make a card I promise myself that I'm going to use up my scraps, and I always cut into new paper *sighs* lol. So this Challenge is just what I needed.

I started by going threw my Scrap and Trash piles (stuff I have tossed aside with no plans of ever using, but too much of a hoarder to actually throw away) heheheh. I found a bunch of fun patterns and colors and scrap pieces of paper and ribbon. I cleaned up the papers I selected by cutting them into squares to use as the background with my Nestabilities. I also found some poka-dotted ribbon that was kind of unloved and just sitting around collecting dust. I also found a fabulous piece of chipboard (that I used for the boarder around my stamp). It had white all over it and looked like it was ready for the trash lol. I painted it with some Acrylic paints and brought it back to life. It was a fabulous feeling to use something that I was originally going to throw away. There is a small nick in the frame, but that's the beauty of using Scraps. The stamp I used is called Tweet Elephant from Squigglefly. Is it not the most adorbale ever! The Sentiment is from an Amy R stamp set that reads, "We're The Perfect Pair". This is the card I created :)

I also got a new OTT light (yippeeee) and I think it has really improved the look of my photos over all. It seems to bring out details in my photos that I wasn't picking up with my Camera alone. I have been wanting this light forever, and I'm so pleased with it. It was worth every penny, but of course I used a 50% off Coupon so the price was seriously reasonable. It beats just a regular lamp with a Daylight bulb by a mile.

Here are some close ups of my card.

I love the dimension that the Chipboard gives the card, and it really took 15 minutes to paint and dry. I loved it so much I have been digging to find other pieces to incorporate into future cards.

Thank you so much for visiting and please come visit us for the Challenge. We have free prizes and lots of fun. All the details for the Challenge can be found at the
